shell avenue in martinez will be shutting down. also station 16 on los arabis avenue in lafayette. station 4 on hawthorne drive in walnut creek. and station 11 on center avenue in clayton. officials have been debating these closures...and impact this all afternoon...kron four's dan kerman has been in that board meeting...and has the latest developments. >> after discussing this matter for most of the afternoon it looks like a contra costa fire protection district will delay a decision on weather or not to shut for down of the 28 stations. they need more information before they make this decision. declining revenues, increase in benefits, pensions mean that the district is not have as much money as it needs to have to keep all of these stations open. >> this is the last option we have we have exhausted all of our reserve funds, cutting costs, and trying to go to the public with a temporary tax measure and that did not pass. we are at a point for we cannot go any further. >> the district wants to look at other options in to get some questions answered and next tuesday this same ques

. the district says the answer 41,000 calls a year. the meeting in martinez today will be with the supervisors' offices for the preliminary go over for the stations that are on the chopping block. they're already scheduled to be close. they're encouraging the public to show up the meeting is that 115 pirie and perhap >> police are on the scene of what they're calling it a sophisticated pot growing operation and the south bay. it is an east san jose on the 1300 block of sandalwood court. police got a call at 3 this morning they saw three pe going into the home and i thought it was a robbery in progress. when police arrived and found over 300 pot plants valued at over $125,000. nome was there when the police got there. no one lives and the home and police are calling this a sophisticated row house. we have a crew headed to the scene and we will bring you more in the next half hour. >> lafayette city officials say a portion of the road that collapsed during the weekend storm is likely going to take several months to be repaired. will tran was on the scene and told about this yesterday

the price spike. the other one was this one. the royal dutch shell refinery in martinez, california. we were told they were offline for maintenance. so these two refineries being down, well obviously then your prices are going to go up. that's what drove up the gas prices in california despite all the other factors saying that prices shouldn't have gone up. that was in may. and people in california were ovb obviously prepared to accept that explanation. history had prepared us to accept that explanation. however, check this out. earlier this month apache news service got a report that looked at a document, thousands of environmental documents from a point in thyme when those refineries were supposedly offline. down for maintenance work. right? here's out mcklatch chi explains. at a time in may, reported down for maintenance for two weeks, it appears to have been making gasoline for at least half that time. state environment records show. nitrogen oxide emissions have returned to normal at the refinery, a full week before it was reported to have come back online. really? similarly, c

through martinez. back over toward parts of the east bay. san francisco over to oakland a little heavier toward san rafael. looks like right there on the san rafael side of the richmond san rafael bridge. off the coast you can see right off the marin coast in san francisco there is a little bit stronger cells inching closer. it's not cold it's really mild. if you don't have rain cloudy conditions and foggy. there is a little low right there. that will give us enhancement here in the morning. look for cloudy skies and rain. just kind of a foggy rainy day. 60s on the temps. even the lows or upper 50s to near 60 for some. we won't see much of a change on the temperatures from lows to highs. the rain will end tonight. fog very, very thick. i think north bay, east bay out to the valley it will be a big issue here. it does look quieter. breezy. that should wipe out the fog. >>> right now the european markets are all trading higher this morning. overnight the asian markets closed with gains as well. after china's leaders -- shanghai composite jumped almost 3%. all the other markets finished the

found near i-680 between pleasant hill and martinez. terry mcsweeney is live there. what do we know this morning? >> reporter: right here at concord avenue, and the 680 northbound on-ramp in the bushes over there is where this body was found last evening. i was over there, we could zoom in, there are shopping carts loaded with stuff, there is what appears to be a homeless area where someone had been sleeping and also there's a nearby freeway over pass, looks like there is a homeless encampment under that. having said that look at pictures from last night, deputies going through the bushes, they are going through looking for just about anything they can they could find they are not calling this a suspicious death they are just saying they have a body found out here in this area last night and a lot of deputies came out here to the pleasant hill area and looked and what we were trying to find out this morning is exactly what they found they are being tight lipped to this point all i can tell you is body found last night in an area where there is or has been a homeless encampment in the ver

governor susanna martinez, louisiana governor bobby jindal, south carolina governor nicki hailey and brian sandoval. two of the contenders intersect with the contingent of women would-be nominees. along with minnesota congressman michele bachmann. she isn't the only do over on the list. she's joined by fellow pennsylvania senator rick santorum and texas governor rick perry. texas congressman ron paul for once isn't on the list. but his son, senator rand paul, is creating a category with jeb bush that we're going to call relatively speaking. then there are the guys weighing a presidential run who let's say say national name recognition isn't a strong point. john thune and indiana governor-elect mike pence may not win national popularity contests at least this year, but both have been hailed for their leadership potential. as shining stars in the gop. they may have to compete for the party faithful, but those accustomed to a certain level of national fame, if not infamy. those like new jersey governor chris christie. perhaps, the only contender to have actually hugged president obama.
